Second Spring explores what becomes possible when women in midlife and beyond are given the conditions to grow into rooted, vital and meaningful elderhood

Flourishing is not an individual achievement

It is shaped by the conditions around us.

Personal

Body, energy, identity, time, creativity and self-trust.

Relational

Friendship, love, witnessing, boundaries and intergenerational connection.

Collective

Recognition, meaningful roles, material security, community and cultural pathways.

About the enquiry

Second Spring brings together independent qualitative research, writing, workshops and conversations, centred on women’s lived experience.

The work will inform a forthcoming book, along with essays, research notes, talks, and future gatherings.
